Her Story
Built by an interpreter, for interpreters
Heather is an ASL interpreter whose professional background spans interpreting practice and mentoring other interpreters. Details of that background — including credentials, certifications, and years in the field — are placeholders here until she supplies the final text.
Mentoring became a natural extension of her work. Interpreters kept asking the same kinds of questions: How do I know if this is working? Who can watch my interpreting and tell me the truth? Where do I go after my program ends?
What she kept running into was a shortage of interpreter-centered resources. Plenty of training exists about interpreters. Far less exists for them — created with an understanding of the pressure, isolation, and judgment calls the work involves.
Teaming in ASL is her answer: a supportive professional development environment where feedback is honest, growth is expected, and no interpreter has to figure it out alone.
